Merry Christmas! 12/26/2011

We got to talk to Heather via Facetime on ipads, it was great!  Clear, no hesitations and we got to see her cute face!  She looks great and is doing well.  Merry Christmas to you all!

Dear Family,
I will tell you a little of our Christmas fun.
On Friday we went to the Nutcracker! It was pretty sweet.  Russian ballet, its famous right?  :)  but it was a lot different and I think I was judging by the ballet west one that I have memorized and the Clara just wasn't as good as Audrey and she was a horrible "crier" when the nutcracker broke! I remember Audrey practiced that one a lot! :) Then on Saturday was the baptism which was the best present anyone could have for Christmas! Gyorgi is so great and so strong! He already has a clear view of the gospel and the blessings that it has and will bring him. We had a lesson with the elders that night but they didn't show up, so we decided to give the members a present and clean the branch building for them! It’s funny what can make missionaries so happy! We were all sad that our meeting fell through and then had a great idea to do service and we all got so happy! So we blasted church Christmas music and cleaned the whole thing! The members showed up for the end and were so happy! It was great!
That night me and Sister Sanford had ice cream and made cute little cards for the elders in our district and then read the two Christmas stories in the book of Mormon together by flashlight because we didn't have any candles. :)
Then it was CHRISTMAS! And it was so great!  We got all dressed and finished our cards, my companion opened her presents (it’s ok, I took pictures, and she and Sister Shwab had gotten me a coloring book so I had a present too!)  And then we headed over to the Webb’s and all the missionaries were happy and excited and we ate delicious breakfast!!!! The Webb’s are so great! And then I called you!  And I talked to you for a little bit longer than we were supposed to....but it was free this time right?  :) And then opened some presents the Webbs got us, a framed quote from Pres. Monson and chocolate!   And then we went to church! Lots of singing and talking about the Saviors Birth and all he has done for us! And half the sisters brought food so everyone stayed after to eat and congratulate everyone!  Then we headed over the presidents!! It’s the best to be at the Mission Home!  Such a treat!  We had Parmesan chicken but it wasn't what we have...totally different but it was good!  And then we had a spiritual thought and musical numbers by all the musically talented elders in our city!  One played on the piano Carol of the bells by Transiberian orchestra and one played his own rendition of silent night on the guitar.  President shared some excerpts from his book that is about to be published and Sister Gibbons shared some insights on Christmas. It was great cause we were all just in a big circle of chairs just like a family! Then we had a white elephant game which is always so so funny! The best gift was a Justin Bieber Barbie doll haha it was so funny! It took about an hour to go around the whole circle but it was fun!  Then a few of the elders changed the "inside out" song "tracking in a winter wonder land” to fit our mission and performed it for us! It was so funny!  And Sister Gibbons made us a really awesome thing ...I don't know how to call it but it is in picture frame and it was our mission name and all the names of the city but all the missionaries names all around it! It is really cool!  I will take a picture and send it so you know what I am talking about.   And then we all sat around and ate brownies and the elders played the guitar and we all sang songs and just talked and chilled. It was great.
Me and Sister Sanford are sick kinda. But don’t worry just like colds but no one wants to talk to us at the moment cause we look sick and she is hacking like a old lady and I have a runny nose haha it’s pretty bad. But you know, it will be good.  If they are really ready they will still talk to us I think!   We slept all day today instead of doing anything. That’s why we are later than normal.
Well that’s about it!  I’m thankful for this great time I have to get to know my Savior on a more personal level and to share His love with others and help them to develop a relationship with Him as well.
Love,
Sister Trottier
